Metro CDMX Reports Delays Amid High Passenger Volume

Passengers in Mexico City are facing significant delays on Metro lines 3, 12, and 7, with waits exceeding 20 minutes. The Metro authority cites high passenger influx as the reason and advises users to take precautions and consider alternative routes.

Metro CDMX Reports Delays Amid High Passenger Volume

The average waiting time to board a train in the Mexico City Metro is 5 minutes. Users on social media report greater disruptions on lines 3 and 12, where trains are taking longer to arrive.

On line 3 of the Metro, users express their frustration with the delays. A user on Twitter commented: 'Why is line 3 of the Metro so slow? The 6 minutes on line 3 are just a tale... It takes 20 to 30 minutes to advance just one station, it's awful.'

On the other hand, line 12 also experienced delays this Monday, with users reporting waits of up to 20 minutes. A female user stated: 'On line 12 it’s not 6 minutes, we have already waited 20 minutes and haven’t been able to leave Tláhuac.'

The Mexico City Metro reported that currently, line 3 has no malfunctions, but the passenger influx at certain times is causing delays, and they are coordinating the dispatch of empty units to the stations with higher demand. The same is happening on line 12, where additional trains are being sent to accommodate the increase in users.

Moreover, delays and high passenger influx have also been recorded on line 7 and line A of the Metro. On line 7, heading to El Rosario, delays of more than 5 minutes have been reported. Meanwhile, on line A, heading to Pantitlán, trains stop at each station for at least 10 minutes, causing frustration among users.

In light of this situation, the Collective Transport System urges passengers to take precautions and cooperate by allowing free door closures to speed up train operation and avoid further delays. In general, users are advised to check for possible alternate routes and stay alert to the official information issued by the Metro on its social media platforms.

In summary, this Monday, users of the Mexico City Metro have experienced delays and longer wait times, especially on lines 3, 12, and 7. Although measures have been implemented to mitigate the impacts, passengers are advised to take precautions and stay informed about the operation of the transport system.
